Auburn Winds, Auburn’s official town band, presents a community band concert filled with songs of faith and inspiration on Sunday, February 26 with new conductor Brian O’Donnell. The concert is from 3-5 p.m. at the historic, Auburn State Theatre (Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center), located at 985 Lincoln Way in Auburn. Admission is free, with tax-deductible donations gratefully accepted. This is the band’s first performance with O’Donnell, who is currently pursuing a Master of Music in orchestral conducting at California State University, Sacramento. The 40-member community concert band, will play a variety of inspirational music including Igor Stravinsky’s “Infernal Dance and Finale,” “Amazing Grace” by Frank Tichelli and “God Bless America” by Irving Berlin. In addition, Twisted Licorice, a clarinet ensemble, will perform "On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" by David Holsinger. For more information about Auburn Winds, visit www.auburnwinds.org
