Antsy McClain brings his fun-loving Trailer Park Troubadours (Troubs for short) back to the State Theatre in Auburn for their acclaimed annual Halloween Bash. Come in costume and be ready to party. They'll take you on a ride through Pine View Heights, the friendliest trailer park in America, with their original songs, hilarious slide show and audience participation for an evening you'll be talking about for a long time.
Antsy has been on NRP, XM, TV, and in films; Willie Nelson and Guy Clark dig his work a lot; Lindsay Buckingham and Tommy Emmanuel have dropped in for recording sessions. A blend of Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, Hoyt Axton, Roy Clark, Ray Stevens, and a TV show hipster, McClain, though he resides in a country folk vein, is not all that easily classifiable.
From rocking blues guitars to classic country twang to folk-rock, a rootsy, muscular blend of rock and roll has become his trademark. McClain calls the music “folkabilly,” and his live shows with the Troubadours are a unique mix of masterful musicianship and self-deprecating humor.
Antsy’s songs blend the savvy of Garrison Keillor’s Lake Wobegon with the unique experiences and lessons of growing up in blue-collar American culture.
Tickets are also available at Cherry Records, 925 Lincoln Way, Auburn 530-823-2147.
