Foothill Storytelling Guild intends to present to the Gold Country community a chance to share the joy that comes from listening to oral stories. Those stories are told without notes or props using gestures, voice inflections and facial movements that light up the imagination. The one day event has a children’s hour, a workshop for those learning the art of telling, Open Telling hour where anyone can tell a story, and the popular Liar’s Contest. In the evening, there is two hours of stories for grown-ups told by regional and professional tellers some who are members of the National Storytelling Network, an organization that requires the highest standards for their members.
