OLLI Orchestra performs five classical music works from three centuries on Friday, November 3 at 7:30 pm at Sierra College, Grass Valley. Included in the program are Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 in D (Haffner Symphony), some movements from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Don Pasquale Overture by Donizetti and American composer Leroy Anderson’s Belle of the Ball.
Local musicians comprise the community orchestra sponsored by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Steve Miller conducts. This is a great opportunity to learn more about classical music and hear works that will sound familiar because of their frequent use in movie scores and video games.
There are signs directing guests to the Multi-Purpose Room at the college entrance. There’s no fee to park at the college on Friday evenings.
