March 10th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Meet docent at 9:00 a.m. at the North Stone Lake Unit entrance gate (take the Interstate-5 Elk Grove Blvd exit, turn west towards the grasslands at the end of the exit ramp; docent will meet you right there at the large entrance gate). Note: This walk does NOT meet at Blue Heron Trails

Trail consists of a 2 mile (roundtrip) flat semi-hard dirt trail leading to a wildlife viewing platform overlooking managed wetlands hosting various migrants such as Sandhill cranes, shorebirds and waterfowl. Suggested items to bring: hat, binoculars, field guides, water, layers, insect repellent and sturdy shoes. A portable restroom is provided. No RSVP needed...just show-up!

Please be on time as the group will go through a gate that gets locked. Children welcome, but pets must stay at home.
