Outdoor Nature Day Camps for children entering 1st-6th grade!

Through experiments, activities, games, and crafts at the Yolo Basin Foundation’s wetland demonstration area, campers will explore the world of wetlands: water, wildlife, plant life, soils, weather, agriculture and foods!

Registration opens March 1

Monday – Friday Day Camps
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
At Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area HEADQUARTERS

Cost: $110 for Yolo Basin Foundation members; $135 for non-members
Max # of campers/camp: 12

Discover the Wetlands 1
For children entering 1st-3rd grade in the Fall
Explore the wetlands for animal signs, tracks, and scat! Compare otters, beavers and minks, some of our wetland mammals. Find out how you measure up to an egret. Throw on some boots* and wade into the pond, exploring water bugs, and more!
*Boots are provided
This camp repeats and is offered twice over the summer:
June 17-21 & July 22-26, 2019

Discover the Wetlands 2
For children entering 4th-6th grade in the Fall
Investigate wetland animals and plants through identification and dissection! Get your hands dirty with the great percolation race, a soils experiment. Play Marsh Munchers to examine what foods come from wetlands. Throw on some boots* and hop in the pond for critter collection and a closer look, and more!
*Boots are provided
This camp repeats and is offered twice over the summer:
July 8-12 & August 5-9, 2019
