The Gold Rush Museum, formerly the Gold Country Museum, is now located at 601 Lincoln Way in the Historic Auburn Depot next to the Chinese Worker Statue. This museum has an indoor panning stream, a mining tunnel and tons of Gold Rush era artifacts to explore and learn about. The museum is currently open Fridays through Sundays from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm as we continue to complete the installation of exhibits but will be fully open later this year. As always, admission is FREE!
You can pan for gold for free using our bucket of gravel from the Bear River or the "tailings" in the stream. If you want to guarantee finding gold, you can purchase one of our "seeded" bags of gravel for $3.00! We hope to see you soon!
