Become a Discover the Flyway Docent!
~share your love of the outdoors with the next generation~

Join us at the 2019 Discover the Flyway docent training! Docents lead hands-on learning stations with small groups of students, assist with field supplies and team up with staff to co-lead and assist with Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area nature walks.

No experience necessary, just a passion for sharing nature with children! Training will cover wetland basics as well as each of the learning stations. New docents are highly encouraged to attend all training sessions. Individuals with science and teaching backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer.

Discover the Flyway is Yolo Basin Foundation's environmental education field trip program reaching around 4,000 K-12 students each year. Its goals are to offer children a meaningful outdoor experience that will give them an appreciation for the wetlands, agriculture and wildlife of the Central Valley, contribute to a lifetime of healthy outdoor activities and help to develop a land stewardship ethic.
