For the last 18 years we’ve welcomed you to Nevada County, CA for Wild & Scenic Film Festival every January. This year things are different, so we are bringing the festival to you! Between January 14 and 24 you will be able to watch the 2021 lineup of films from the comfort and safety of your home. We realize this will be a big change for everyone but we are here to help guide you through this new experience.

With the festival occurring over the course of 11 days rather than 5 days we’ve worked to provide you with plenty of time to enjoy everything this year’s virtual event has to offer.

During the event, you will be able to enjoy all the Wild & Scenic programming on our virtual festival site: WSFF.EVENTIVE.ORG. We are thrilled to be working with Eventive to host our virtual festival. The platform not only allows for beautiful video playback but also a simple integration allowing for seamless ticket and pass purchasing. The Virtual Catalog will show all the various content that will become accessible during the festival, including ticketed film sessions and free programming like workshops. Most content will be available as on-demand content, available to enjoy on your own schedule.

Once inside, you’ll be able to browse all film sessions which are organized by themed tracks, just like how you’d experience our films in the theater. Rather than checking out individual films, we curated sessions for you to experience a cinematic journey that links subject matter together in thoughtful ways and to encourage surprising connections. Once you purchase your pass or ticket and unlock your session, the films will play in succession for uninterrupted film viewing. Click here to learn how to purchase a pass.

The virtual festival will still have many of your favorite elements of Wild & Scenic including:
Films – over 100 environmental and adventure shorts and features – curated into themed sessions that can be viewed from your favorite devices in the comfort and safety of your home Filmmaker Engagement like panel discussions, Q&A sessions, special live streams, and more Workshops will be available to watch for free throughout the event as part of the Earthjustice Activist Center. Talks and Chats with filmmakers, artists, activists, and more.

Art Exhibition, which will be online this year! Explore the artwork, much of which is inspired by the 2021 theme Resilient by Nature, and support artists showcasing the natural world EnviroFair highlights organizations that are protecting the earth and its inhabitants, giving them a platform to showcase their work. You will be able to virtually stroll through the Fair and learn more about how to get involved
Self-Guided Excursions will take the place of our usual group outings this year, helping you to still get outside and keep the “Wild” in Wild & Scenic
Youth programming to engage young people of all ages. In addition to our three curated K-12 School Programs for various learning levels, there will also be family-friendly film sessions and a Youth Workshop.
